Studio 1
The main studio at Air-Edel is one of the most versatile in London and large enough to accommodate 20 plus string, brass and vocal line-ups.
Just about anything can be recorded here and the variety of sessions coming in is large. The studio is frequently used for recording rock bands, jazz groups, string sections, large ensemble radio plays, grand piano and chamber orchestras - and all can be achieved with synchronisation to picture. With a high ceiling, live and dead spaces and floor to ceiling baffles, ambience and spill can be controlled easily. Also, our Steinway B grand piano is regarded as one of the finest in London.
The control room is centred around the last Cadac studio console ever built, recording to Pro Tools HD3 or 24 track tape and monitoring on a Dynaudio 5.1 system with a choice of nearfields. The outboard features Urei, Prism and Neve compressors, and TC6000 and genuine EMT plate reverbs. A separate client lounge with TV and hi-fi is adjacent to the control room, if you need to relax away from the session or work in peace on something else.
