Directed by Tony Leondis, ‘The Emoji Movie’, released in the US today and will hit cinema screens around the UK on August 4th. With an all-star cast including T.J Miller, James Corden and Sir Patrick Stewart, ‘The Emoji Movie’ reveals the secret world inside your smartphone. Set within Textopolis, the messaging app, is an energetic city filled with all of your favourite emojis who hope to be selected by the phone’s user. Within this world, each emoji has only one facial expression – apart from one, Gene. This epic adventure is a fight against time, as Gene confides in his best friend Hi-5 and notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak for help however, when a greater danger is discovered which threatens the fate of all emojis, it is in the hands of these three friends to save their world before it is deleted forever.
Air Edel’s Academy award-nominated and Ivor Novello Award-winning composer Patrick Doyle wrote the original score for this new release, which was supervised by Maggie Rodford and assisted by Emily Appleton-Holley. Nick Taylor recorded the score at Air Studios before returning to Air-Edel to mix and master the score and the official soundtrack.
