At Air-Edel Recording Studios we have a fantastic selection of consoles, outboard and microphones, as well as always staying right up to date with the latest software, plugins and converters.
We can cater to you if you want to use only the most modern, state of the art equipment, or if you want to go completely old school and record exclusively analogue – or we can get the best of both worlds and work both retro and contemporary technology.
The centrepiece of Studio 1, the last studio Cadac console ever built is integral to all sessions.
Our full rack adds genuine analogue processing to record and mix sessions, with some true classics such as the Manley Vari MU, Neve 33609 and Inward Connections Vac Rac.
Our 24 track 2” tape machine has recently been refurbished to perfect working order.
Arguably the most sought after and beloved microphone ever built, our three are the jewels in our microphone collection, having been kept in pristine condition for decades and used on almost every session.
The C12 valve microphone is well known for its highly sought-after bright and airy qualities, and is perfect on violins and female vocals.
Perhaps the most commonly used studio microphone in the world, the U87 is an old faithful, always achieving a high benchmark of audio quality for practically any instrument and perfect for spoken word.
The FET transistor version of the classic valve mic has garnered a reputation as an excellent outside of kick drum mic, but ours is in pristine condition and works equally well on double bass and vocals.
These fantastic old school BBC mics have become something of an industry standard for brass sessions but also perfect for drum overheads and anything that could naturally use some gentle high end roll off.
